We're in Between Episode 56: The Party

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey go all the way back to the beginning looking back at the 1998 As Told by Ginger pilot "The Party". In this episode, Ginger is invited to Courtney's party. However, she has to take Carl with her since Lois is working. With the pilot being only 11 minutes long, how well does it stack compared to the series?

We're in Between Episode 55: The Wedding Frame

In this special episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the final episode of As Told by Ginger "The Wedding Frame". This 4th TV movie was the 2nd episode of the series that never aired in the U.S., but was released on DVD. Ginger tries her hardest to make sure that Dr. Dave and Lois' wedding is perfect. However, Dr. Dave's mother is planning on sabotaging the wedding by hiring a woman named Nikki LaPorte to portray as Dr. Dave's old girlfriend. With that said, does this TV movie end on a high note? One thing's for sure: Patricia and Casey can't do it alone.

We're in Between Episode 54: Ten Chairs

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the 57th episode of As Told by Ginger "Ten Chairs". Ginger decides to invite her father Jonas to Thanksgiving dinner in addition to Dr. Dave, his mother, and the Bishop family making the situation awkward and uncomfortable. This is the penultimate episode of the series before the series finale. How does it turn out?

We're in Between Episode 52: Dodie's Big Break

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the 55th episode of As Told by Ginger "Dodie's Big Break". Taking place right after "A Lesson in Tightropes", Ginger returns to school after being hospitalized for appendicitis. During that time, Dodie became the gopher mascot for Lucky High's pep squad. However, an incident where Dodie knocks down the cheerleader triangle position causes Dodie to break her leg and is promoted to pep squad member. Meanwhile, Carl teams up with Buddy, the real estate agent from the episode "Kiss Today Goodbye" to sell people  run down homes for profit.

As Told By Ginger "A Lesson In Tightropes" First Cut Animatic

Special thanks to As Told by Ginger director Mark Risley for digging through an old VHS tape of some animatics he still had and sharing this with me to share to all the fans. This one is from the Season 3 episode "A Lesson in Tightropes" which was named after a lyric from the Rufus Wainwright song "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk". There are some minor changes of the animatic from the final product such as the drawings, some of the background music being missing, a deleted scene not shown in the final product, and Orion singing the 2nd part of “Splinter in my Heart”. With that said, enjoy!

We're in Between Episode 51: A Lesson in Tightropes

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the 54th episode of As Told by Ginger "A Lesson in Tightropes". Continuing from the previous episode, "Kiss Today Goodbye", Darren finally decides to break up with Ginger for Simone. Ginger is heartbroken about this and ends up in the hospital suffering from appendicitis. Meanwhile Carl gets furious when his estranged father Jonas visits Ginger more often and he fears it will ruin the relationship between Lois and Dr. Dave. Fans have called this episode the most dramatic and depressing episode of the entire series. But is it still decent despite this or is it too sad for its own good?

With this episode focusing on Dodie, does it become "About Face" good or "Of Lice and Friends" bad?

We're in Between Episode 49: Detention

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the 52nd episode of As Told by Ginger "Detention" while also reading off the monthly comments from listeners. Continuing from the previous episode "Stuff'll Kill Ya", Ginger receives all day detention after sleeping through Ms. Zorski's test which means that she has to miss Darren's 1st football game. Meanwhile, Carl and Hoodsey make an agreement with Blake to sign the rights for him to have 49% of their tea only for him to take complete control over it.

We're in Between Episode 48: Stuff'll Kill Ya

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the 51st episode of As Told by Ginger "Stuff'll Kill Ya”, which was one of two episodes that aired on the Nicktoons Network in North America when it no longer aired new episodes on Nickelodeon. In this episode, Ginger and Carl enter into their first days of high school and middle school respectively with their teachers against them. Ginger becomes overwhelmed with school work and drinks coffee to keep up and Carl believes that he has 48 hours to live when checking on his science teacher's off limits lab fridge. "Stuff'll Kill Ya" was the start of many changes that will happen throughout the remaining episodes of the series. How well does it hold up compared to the previous two seasons?

We're in Between Episode 47: Fair to Cloudy

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discusses about the 50th episode of As Told by Ginger "Fair to Cloudy". The plot focuses on Ginger, Dodie, and Macie doing their yearly tradition of going to the state fair with Ginger inviting Darren. Dodie, not happy with Ginger ruining their plans, invites Courtney to join them. Meanwhile, Carl and Hoodsey visit the fair as well to see a two-headed horse only to find out it wasn't as cool as they hoped it would be.

We're in Between Episode 46: Heat Lightning

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the 49th episode of As Told by Ginger "Heat Lightning". Along the way, Ginger starts dreaming about Sasha and her old flame is reignited. Meanwhile, Carl and Hoodsey save up enough money to purchase an air conditioner to withstand the overwhelming heat wave.

"Heat Lightning" is considered to be the 1st episode of the 2nd half of Season 3 kickstarting the many changes that'll permeate the rest of the series. Does it do a good job or is it too jarring?

With that Carl puts his petrified eyeball in the capsule and tries hard to mature into a preteen. Also in the mix, Patricia reads off the listeners' comments from episodes 41-46. With this being the 3rd TV movie and the half way point of Season 3, how does it stack compared to the others?

We're in Between Episode 44: About Face

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the 46th episode of As Told by Ginger "About Face". Joann is hired to be the substitute teacher of Lucky Jr. High and she uses this to pose as her old middle school persona named Josie to hang out with the popular girls. However, they find her overwhelming and irritating. Meanwhile Carl and Dr. Dave shop for an engagement ring for Lois, only for it to get stuck in Carl's finger. Blake decides to show Noelle the pictures he took of Carl and Polly from "Wicked Game" to sabotage their relationship.

This is the last episode of the series before leading up to the 3rd TV movie and the halfway point of Season 3. Is this episode a good way to lead towards the movie or another dud like the previous episodes over the past few weeks?

We're in Between Episode 43: The Easter Ham

In this episode of We're in Between, Patricia and Casey discuss about the 45th episode of As Told by Ginger "The Easter Ham". In this episode, Ginger is preparing for Darren's birthday party while Carl and Hoodsey are going door to door selling last year's candy to people dressed in a bunny suit. However, Joann and Lois fight over the last ham in the supermarket ending up with Joann getting injured and forbidding Dodie and Hoodsey to stay away from the Foutleys. With this episode not following up to "Wicked Game", is it a good episode in its own merits?
